Quartet in A minor for flute, viola & keyboard C. Ph. E. Bach
Sonata in C minor for viola & continuo F. Benda
Duo for two violas in C major W. F. Bach
Sonata in F for flute, viola & continuo J. G. Graun
In the first of three recitals devoted to the artistry of each member of the Ensemble, Kyle Miller explores the viola in a period of beautiful composition for his instrument. Works of CPE Bach, W. F. Bach, J. G. Graun and Benda draw a picture of an adventurous generation hidden between the generations of J. S. Bach and Mozart. In the intimacy of the Triad's space, enjoy a Berlin Salon similar to the ones hosted by Sarah Levi Itzig who championed these composers. Kyle is joined by Kathie Stewart (flute), Olivier Brault (violin and viola), Loretta O'Sullivan (cello) and Andrew Appel (harpsichord).
