Perfect Love in Two Centuries

Music Inspired by Watteau's Images of Perfect Love

Pianist and exquisite Debussy interpreter Spencer Myer joins Pascale Beaudin and the Ensemble (Adriane Post, violin, Loretta O'Sullivan, cello, and harpsichordist and director Andrew Appel) in a program that explores compositions inspired by the great painting of Watteau (Embarquement pour Cythére) and the concept of a world of perfect love, of calm, luxury and sensual delight. With music of Couperin, Rameau, Leclair, DuParc, Fauré, Debussy and Ravel.

SAINTS AND SINS
Scenes from Oratorios

Music of Stradella, Caldara, Handel and Purcell

Four Nations Ensemble embraces the Counter-Reformation and Baroque Art with passages from 17th and 18th century Oratorios.

Renowned American vocalists Pascale Beaudin, Eric Jurenas, Thomas Cooley and David Newman will join the ensemble in a dramatic program about St. John, Salome, Saul, David, St. Cecelia and Mary Magdalene.

With Pascale Beaudin, soprano, Eric Jurenas, alto, Thomas Cooley, tenor, David Newman, baritone, Olivier Brault and Adriane Post, violin, Kyle Miller, viola, Loretta O’Sullivan, cello, Anne Trout, bass, Scott Pauley, lute, Andrew Appel, harpsichord.


Four Nations concerts and programs are possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
